1001 EndoNightStories-Night 7

πŸ‘‹ I am back.

πŸ‘€ One of my friends told me that I should tell my stories every second night. So, that is what I will be doing from now on.

πŸŒ™ Tonight’s story is about a tooth that was completely fine for a long time even though a large tooth-colored filling was placed in it. My lovely patient booked herself to see her general dentist as she had some discomfort to chewing on her left-hand side. The dentist detected decay in one of her other teeth on that side and arranged a treatment time for her one week later. While she was waiting for her dentist appointment, her pain deteriorated to a point that she could not sleep and taking painkillers did not help.

πŸ‘©β€βš•οΈ She eventually saw the dentist with signs of dental abscess. Since the dentist was not sure which tooth was responsible for these acute symptoms, she referred her to me. The dentist called my business number which she found in my personal website.

πŸ€• Anyway, when I saw this beautiful young lady, she told me that she had not slept for 3 nights. She was even admitted in a hospital, and the emergency dentist gave her some strong painkillers. unfortunately, they did not work.

😭 She was exhausted, irritated, and confused. She said that it seems that the pain has spread and now, she has pain with all her right-hand side upper and lower.

πŸ‘‰ After I examined her, I noticed that one of her teeth was cracked, which deeply went through the nerve.

πŸ‘ I started root canal treatment for her. When my receptionist called her one day later to see how she was going, she said that she was eventually able to sleep, and the endodontist performed a miracle. πŸ˜‡

βš—οΈ Do you know what device I used to detect the cracks in her tooth? Have a look at the video carefully and follow the graphic of a crack. Do you know what that device is called?

πŸ”¦ It is called a transillumination device and it is a diagnostic device, which helps us to see cracks. When we shine through one surface of a tooth, the light will stop at the level of the crack and the other side of the crack will be darker.

‡️ Can you see that in the images of this video?
